High Protein Foods: High Protein Foods Can Help You Fight Obesity - Experts Expose; 9 Diet Tips

Obesity is a major health problem among people worldwide. Obesity is associated with a higher incidence of heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and more. According to the World Health Organization, obesity has nearly tripled worldwide since 1975.

"Obesity has reached global epidemics, with at least 2.8 million people dying each year from obesity or overweight," states a WHO report. Therefore, experts often suggest a balanced lifestyle and a healthy diet to promote healthy weight loss.

While you can find many ways to lose weight around the world, a new study has found that incorporating high-protein foods into your daily diet can help burn excess fat. According to researchers at the University of Alberta, the findings were published in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. According to the journal, the researchers compared the impact of a complete protein diet on a typical North American diet to key components of metabolic energy.

"Considering global obesity and its impact on health, it is not surprising that nutritional strategies such as whole foods and high-protein diets are becoming increasingly popular as weight loss strategies; however, research surrounding these topics is not consistent with their growing popularity," says the lead author, Camila Oliveira, a doctoral student at the University of Alberta.

A small study was conducted in a group of healthy adults, aged between 18 and 35 years. One group was given a high-protein diet of 35 percent carbs, 40 percent protein and 25% fat; and the second group were fed 55 percent carbs, 15 percent protein, and 30 percent fat. However, both groups are given equal calories in their diet. It has been found that a high-protein diet has led to increased oxidation of fats and "poor fat balance"

Similarly, Dr. Carla Prado, Professor, University of Alberta and lead research researcher, explained, "Although these results are limited to certain healthy, overweight people, they can help nutritionists and health care providers better understand the physical effects of a high protein diet on humans."

"In our view, it is important that we first understand the physical impact of high protein dietary changes in a group of healthy people so that the results are better interpreted for people who are overweight and its associated," Prado said.
